Eublepharis macularius: Leopard geckos are indeginous to Pakistan,
Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Northern India, and turkmenistan. The genus Eublepharidae is divided as: Eublepharis macularius, Eublephaurs ensafi, Eublepharis afghanicus, Eublepharis angramainyu and Eublepharis turkmenicus. |
General care: The latin name (eublepharis macularius means eyelid).
These are probably the most popular pets in reptiles. The color ranges
from drap brown to high yellow, tangerine, gold, black and white. They
are nocturnal being acitve from dusk to dawn The skin that they shed is
eaten by the Leopard gecko's and is beneficial to their diet. Eggs: The eggs are oval and have smooth, pliable shells. Normally
the eggs are of 31 to 35 mm in greatest diameter and 13 to 16 mm in the
least. |
